Python-oracledb is the new name for the Python cx_Oracle driver. The python-oracledb driver is an open source module that enables Python programs to access Oracle Database. It conforms to the Python Database API v2.0 Specification with a considerable number of additions and a couple of exclusions. Synchronous and concurrent <asyncio> coding styles are supported.
This module is currently tested with Python 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11 and 3.12 against Oracle Database 23c, 21c, 19c, 18c, 12c, and 11gR2.
python-oracledb is distributed under an open-source license <license>. Changes in python-oracledb releases can be found in the release notes <releasenotes>.
You can use assistive technology products, such as screen readers, while you work with the python-oracledb documentation. You can also use the keyboard instead of the mouse.
