Add POI/Places to recents page (instead of just recent search terms)

A clear and concise description of what the problem is. For example:
I'm always frustrated when I open Organic Maps and want to get directions to a place I recently opened and it's not easy to access.

A clear and concise description of what you want to see in Organic Maps.
When I click search there is a "History" tab.
In that tab it only shows recent search queries (like "bar")
However, sometimes I search "bar" and click on a result far down the page such as "Wild Bean Bar"
I would like the history tab to show "Wild Bean Bar" if I tapped on it (or at least if I recently routed to it).

I think this would be a nice improvement to the usability of Organic Maps and I'm surprised I couldn't find an issue requesting this already. Maybe it's an easy add :)

Describe alternatives you have considered

• How do you solve this issue now with Organic Maps or other apps?
  • Either bookmark the place or just search again.

This is how Google Maps currently (but not reliably) works.

I might be slightly stupid, but for me the "solution you would like" is already offered (on Android at least).

Ah I guess I wasn't clear. I don't want to see just "food" but I want to see the specific point "bobs hotdog shack" and have it open immediately instead of showing me search results.

I see, I just typed two random terms in the search to feed my history.
What you're asking for is to add to the history whatever you tab on from the search results, instead of just the search term?

The list of recent search terms is not really useful, a list of recently clicked POIs and items you accessed from search (not the search term) is what I want so I can e.g., navigate to them again

Agree that it would be useful. It should be relatively easy to save the selected search result into the History list.

I would also add destinations where navigation was started into the History.

And also add the search term in this scenario:

1. Type the search term.
2. Select "View on the map".
3. Select any object highlighted on the map.

Now the search term in the scenario above is not saved, and it's inconvenient too.
