Actions suddenly complains about "multiple artifacts" and build fails #111260

I had this happen. I followed these directions to unpublish: https://docs.github.com/en/pages/getting-started-with-github-pages/unpublishing-a-github-pages-site. This unpublishes your site but doesn't change anything else. Then I re-ran the build and deployment and it was fine. |

Don't unpublish! @siboehm is right and it's not necessary. Go to Actions, select the Workflow and click on Run workflow. As opposed to Re-running the jobs in the failing deployment. Basically creating a manual deployment. Pretty sure that making a change and pushing that would result in a new successful run as well. |

It seems like there might be a conflict or duplication in the artifacts being generated during your GitHub Pages build process. Here's how you can troubleshoot and fix this issue: Check Workflow Configuration: Review Build Script: Check Output Directories: Artifact Naming: Cleanup Previous Artifacts: GitHub Actions Cache: GitHub Support: By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with multiple artifacts in your GitHub Pages build process. |

I have a github.io repository. It compiled sucessfully many times in the past. I suddenly get this error during build:
Multiple artifacts named "github-pages" were unexpectedly found for this workflow run. Artifact count is 2.
Any suggestions?
