Dear GitHub community,
I am seeking advice on choosing the optimal collaborative development model for the open-source version of our tool, which we have released on a private GitHub repository. This tool aims to assess the biodiversity footprint of companies, financial institutions, and communities, with the open-source version primarily targeting researchers. Our community currently includes about 40 members and is growing. We would like to offer opportunities for community members to contribute to the development of new features and improvements.
We are considering two development models: the Fork and Pull Model and the Shared Repository Model (cf. https://docs.github.com/en/pull-requests/collaborating-with-pull-requests/getting-started/about-collaborative-development-models).
Could you please provide guidance on which model would be more suitable for our needs, considering our goal to foster community contributions and collaboration?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
