To protect our main branch, we require a pull request (PR) before merging, and also a code review from a code owner. We've defined code owners as a team that is owning the entire repo. (in the CODEOWNERS file it has
* @code-owners-team
)However, now for every PR created, the entire code owner group gets added as a reviewer (and can't seem to be removed). Because of this, the entire group gets an email asking for a review (which is spamming inboxes).
What we would rather want, is that a creator of the PR can select a specific reviewer from the group, and only that individual gets a notification email. Adjusting the notifications to not send the group-email would also be a fine solution, but I can't find a setting for it.
Any help is appreciated
