hi,
recently I started to use github codespaces and I'm curious that can we run mysqli or any other database on codspacese

I'm actually interested in the same thing

there are two Codespaces, the one sync in your local VS Code or the pure Web interface

and I'm not very sure if this will work

it's contained so it should run as expected, anyways, you can ask the developers there

that will be different too, I think the one that will not be supported fully is the Web Codespaces

To answer your question, you can run a database on your Codespace.

To elaborate: Codespaces are ultimately a docker container, so you can run anything on a codespace that you could run in a docker container. Codespaces also supports docker in docker, so if you wanted to run a container with a database, you could do that.

In either case, you can connect to the database from the Codespace in a similar way you would connect from your laptop (127.0.0.1:3306). If you want to access it from other places, you can forward the database port.
