Granting a reviewer Code Owner privileges after a PR was opened #50592

One possible solution to this problem is to make sure that the CODEOWNERS file is updated correctly and pushed to the repository's main branch. Here are some steps that you can follow to update the CODEOWNERS file:
If the user is still not recognized as a code owner, try removing and re-adding them as a reviewer in the pull request. If the above steps do not work, it is possible that there may be an issue with the repository's configuration or permissions. |

I have a scenario where a PR was opened, a user was added as a reviewer, then that user was added to the CODEOWNERS file. Now, even after approving the PR, that user is not recognized as a 'code owner' by the PR, so the PR is 'stuck' waiting for a code owner's approval (even though it was approved by a code owner) . Ideally there should be a way to 'refresh' the PR so it acknowledges the user's updated status, or allows one to remove then re-add that user's ID as a reviewer (thereby reflecting the user's updated code owner status), but there doesn't appear to be a method for performing either. Has anyone else run into a similar situation and been able to resolve it?
