You can't use a security key during the initial setup process, but the next best available option is a TOTP app (a.k.a. an authenticator app). Try adding one and then you should be able to deregister SMS authentication, if I am correct. If you're concerned about someone gaining access to your phone or any TOTP app on it in any way, you might be interested in the Yubico Authenticator mobile app. It unlocks with a security key. |

I want to use a security key as the only method of signing in and don't want other less secure ways. Does anyone know how to disable 2fa via SMS?
