It’s one thing to announce yet another SDK of ours, but announcing two at the same time is impressive, even for us!
Check out our new repos, and as always - don’t forget to star them! ⭐
Always wanted to send an email of your choice as part of a flow? Want no more - we’ve got you covered!
Using our 2 new connectors - SMTP or SendGrid - you can now design any email you would like.
One useful use case includes sending a custom ‘Welcome aboard’ email to a user after they’ve signed up to your application for the first time.
🧂 Protect your application using Google reCAPTCHA
Using the new Google reCAPTCHA connector, you can now protect your application from spam and abuse.
In order to use it in flows, you will need to:
Configure a connector in the Connectors page (currently supporting reCAPTCHA v3)
Add the reCAPTCHA component to your login screen
Verify the user’s data with the reCAPTCHA v3 / Verify step, and check the riskInfo.riskScore in a condition.
You can view an example of such a flow below. The user will authenticate with Magic Link, Google reCAPTCHA will verify it, and based on the score - either return the user’s JWT or start an MFA (using OTP).
👣 Generic input component
There are cases where you want to collect information from your user, and send it to a 3rd party tool - without the need to save it on the user object in Descope (since it’s not related to authentication).
Especially for that - we designed a generic input component. It looks just like any other input component - but requires setting a Context Key (so that it can later be referenced in other steps, like condition keys, etc).
In the example below, the Descoper is interested in collecting the user’s pet name, which is later sent to their internal systems (using a Generic HTTP / POST step).
