How-To Jaeger & Prometheus ?

When you run jaeger/all-in-one, do you still need to run Prometheus separately?

I see --metrics-backend prometheus in https://www.jaegertracing.io/docs/1.21/cli/#jaeger-all-in-one but does this mean Prometheus is already running?

How do you Jaeger + Prometheus?

Jaeger does not run Prometheus. --metrics-backend prometheus simply means the Prometheus metrics format is being used.

Is there a prometheus.yml example for jaeger. I use below compose file for prometheus & jaeger all-in-one, but I don't know how to config prometheus.yml to make http://jaeger-host/monitor work.

In this above docker-compose example, which URL:PORT should I be sending the traces/spans(OTLP HTTP) data to?

@gauravc95 that example is not designed to receive external trace data, but since it's running standard OTEL Collector, you'd just need to expose standard OTLP ports on it.
