Considering moving to kustomize

Yes, while installing through helm I felt somewhat limited by the template, e.g. I want to create some additional environment variables, istio's virtualservice in place of ingress, some crds along with hydra etc...

Describe the solution you'd like
I propose moving to Kustomize, apart from the main benefit that its built into the kubectl as well as its allows a better way of ovveriding the base, its more closer to vanilla yaml and template free.

Describe alternatives you've considered
helm convert a plugin I used to convert my own deployments. I will send a PR connecting this issue

Closing as per my comment. We're still open to switch to Kustomize though, but I fear that Helm still has an edge for our ecosystem. If you disagree, please challenge that sentiment :)
