This PR incorporates a few things:
I'm no developer, so not sure if the tests are sufficient (or the best way of doing them) but working with Citizen running on AWS Fargate using mongoDB Atlas for storage, we've had no issues so far.
Would appreciate a merge-commit (rather than squash) so we can keep attribution where it's due 馃槃
