Public gist by default or private? I'm not sure which is better. Different gist tools have made different decisions on this. There's no obvious standard.

I'd say public gist by default.

So I hadn't looked into gists via gh at all till now — I'd figured they woulda been integrated into gh a while ago... was sorta surprised to find out they don't seem to be?

@PaulCapestany Because of we've been focusing on migrating gh to hub 2.x. This feature will be available in hub.
