I just did a fresh install of Owncloud. Judging from the docs https://owncloud.org/install/ I thought I was going to get the 8.0.2 version but I got 8.0.0 instead. Then, I got a message in the webUI saying I need to update.

This problem has been reported already #14850

However, I'm opening this issue because app manager installations may deserve their own update message system.

Also, the information in the docs is inaccurate as even though app manager is recommended as method of installation, the version described in the docs does not match with the one available for Debian/Ubuntu repositories

  1. I went to https://owncloud.org/install/
  2. After choosing "Packages" for Linux server I was taken to http://software.opensuse.org/download/package?project=isv:ownCloud:community&package=owncloud
  3. I followed the instructions for xUbuntu 14.10

So the 8.0.2 linux packages are not out yet. They will be release inthe next few hours. You will get an update then.
