I have updated my OC from 8.0 to 8.03 on my v-server (UBUNTU 14.04) using apt-get upgrade.
Testing the creation of a test-user failed with "user already exists". I've created this user never befor!
After rebooting the server, I could create the new user. Now I tried to change the password for
the user in admin/users. The user can't login any more. I removed the user and tried to create it again. User already exists. Reboot. Creating the user succeeds again . Change of "forgotten" password failed again.
What is wrong? What is my mistake?

Hi,

have you enabled the user_webdavauth (WebDAV user backend) app?

Ahm ... Had the same problem as oru61.

Following your hint @RealRancor by deactivating WebDAV I could see my testusers and without any problem add and delete users. Good to know, but why is this? How does WebDav block my administrations? ...

@maste9 See the app description what the app is doing. Its not "WebDAV", its a "WebDAV backend" which authenticates your users against a WebDAV server. And if this WebDAV server doesn't exist then it should be clear that you can't authenticate your users against it.

... o .. k ..... Maybe my brain is still a bit snoozy in the morning ... But if I got you my administrations on users should work, if WebDav backend is enabled and not if it was not?

Here it was vice versa ...

Well, it is not such important to me as long as it works and I can indeed administer my oc.

Thx a lot for your support!

Hi,

no its the other way around. If the WebDAV backend is enabled you can't administrate your users from within OC.

As this seems to be a setup issue I will close this.
