Overview

Material Design LightDM WebKit Theme

Prerequisites

• lightdm
• lightdm-webkit2-greeter

Enable ligthdm-webkit2-greeter by editing /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and setting greeter-session property to lightdm-webkit2-greeter :

[SeatDefaults]
#greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter
greeter-session=lightdm-webkit2-greeter
user-session=your-session (gnome,cinnamon,xfce...)

Installation

Currently there is only a manual install:

1. Download “Material LightDM”
2. Unzip it into the folder /usr/share/lightdm-webkit/themes/
3. Rename the unzipped folder to material-lightdm (so that the complete path becomes /usr/share/lightdm-webkit/themes/material-lightdm)
4. Edit the resource /etc/lightdm/lightdm-webkit2-greeter.conf and set webkit-theme property to material-lightdm :

theme-name=Adwaita
#webkit-theme=default
webkit-theme=material-lightdm

Uninstallation

To uninstall, simply restore the greeter-session property of the /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf file and restart your computer (or at least lightdm).

You may also want to :

1. Remove the folder material-lightdm created in /usr/share/lightdm-webkit/themes/
2. Restore the webkit-theme property of the /etc/lightdm/lightdm-webkit-greeter.conf file
