I'll start.

  • win2k/xp: common bank; the driver has buggy tone portamento handling.
  • NT4: the instrument bank differs from common variant.
  • win9x: common bank; ???
  • win3.1: common bank; ???
  • os2: ???

Both banks are same format, just that patches vary.

Leecher1337 said that you said that "only win9x/os2 has required midi functionality and not nt4 driver".
Can you detail about that?

It was reports from users on www.vogons.org that they only get the full functionality on 3.1 and 9x.

As a original user, I only had 95 and 98SE. At an internet rate of around 245€ per hours, Using e2dk to download illegal copies of iso was out of questions in the early 2000.

If I remember correctly, the win9x drivers also sported wavetable midi, and perhaps this is what the vogons users are refering to as "complete functionality".

What says you?

The default synth which is assigned to the midi port mapper is the still present emulated 1 (from Roland). Users aren t referring to it.

What special functionality did win9x and os2 drivers have in regards to midi? If any.
