Difference of midi implementation accross OS-es #4
Comments
Common bank details https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=738552#p738552 |
Both banks are same format, just that patches vary. Leecher1337 said that you said that "only win9x/os2 has required midi functionality and not nt4 driver". |
It was reports from users on www.vogons.org that they only get the full functionality on 3.1 and 9x. As a original user, I only had 95 and 98SE. At an internet rate of around 245€ per hours, Using e2dk to download illegal copies of iso was out of questions in the early 2000. |
If I remember correctly, the win9x drivers also sported wavetable midi, and perhaps this is what the vogons users are refering to as "complete functionality". What says you? |
The default synth which is assigned to the midi port mapper is the still present emulated 1 (from Roland). Users aren t referring to it. |
What special functionality did win9x and os2 drivers have in regards to midi? If any. |
The reported vendor sound bank using the full capabilities of the sound chip while other leave it open just for games. |
What does this mean in detail? |
I'll start.
