Should dependencies be removed when uninstalling extensions?

I found out this when building my first Pagekit extension. My test extension required a package. When my extension was installed, the required package was also installed. But when I uninstalled my extension, the required package's folder was not deleted.

Should we check the dependencies are still used by other Pagekit extensions, if they are not used by any extension then we remove them? This will save disk space and help us maintain the project easily.
