I cant exactly figure out what is happening, so this will be vague. I think once you switch back from the orphan branch it is checking out some super old code, which wont show in history. Does it run a bower install?

I don't really understand how I would reproduce this bug.

Can you include your grunt build gh pages configs, the task it is part of, git status before and after, git branch -a before, and output with the --verbose flag?

oh, and it does not run a bower install....the only thing I can think of is that the command to check out the original branch is not doing what I expect

looks like i'm using this git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD to store where you start.... if that is returning a different sha ref than tou are currently on that could be a problem
