About implementing full support for SteamGuard, that won't happen.
I fully support and quote the author of andOTP, so I'm just going to leave the link here for more details: https://github.com/andOTP/andOTP/wiki/Shared-secrets#steam
Short summary:
- full support for Steam will never be introduced in OTPClient
- you will be able to generate SteamGuard OTPs, but you are responsible for finding and converting the secret to base32
- this feature is supported since OTPClient 1.3.0 (which requires libcotp v1.2.1 and greater)
