This could be useful to generate a changelog template for repos that update their changelog manually.

One example is substrate-api-sidecar, where the the changelog is updated manually each release.

Things it would include:

  • Upgrade priority
  • Types of commits based on conventional commits. ie: fix, feat etc
  • external contributors
  • link all commits to their urls
  • dates and header
