The solution shall provide means to attach the original scanned datasheet in a browser-readable format to the digital record.
Use cases
A proof-reader compares the scanned paper datasheet with the digital record to make sure that all data has been transcribed (complete), the transcribed data is in the right place without typos (correct), and the data follows the guidelines (consistent). The PDF of the scanned datasheet is directly linked to the record and can be opened directly in a new browser tab.
A curator questions the legitimacy of a record and pulls up the datasheet to double-check the proofreader's work.
An auditor double-checks the QA operator's work by comparing the record (including the edit history and QA operations) with the scanned (and possibly the paper) datasheet.
Implementation
WAStD allows to attach arbitrary files to records, and display them directly in the browser, including:
Photos (taken externally or through the data capture forms)
Datasheets (scanned as PDF, or simply photographed)
Communication records (as plain text files)
