Comment: When I click share to Facebook via the icon, I get taken to Facebook and the link and text show up - but there's no image. Can we make sure our social sharing links create image thumbnails properly?

it looks like in addition to the og:image tag, FB is now also requiring og:image:width and og:image:height. i will add these.

from their documentation:

Using these tags will specify the image dimensions to the crawler so that it can render the image immediately without having to asynchronously download and process it.

so what is actually happening is that the image doesn't show up immediately because their service hasn't processed it yet, and the link hasn't previously been shared so the image is not cached in their service yet. by adding the width and height attributes, the image can be added immediately.

another issue here is that our images are using a base64 encoding, and FB requires that images use deflate or gzip content encodings.

there is other image/aws work happening here: participedia/api#811, so i will add a sub task to make sure we update our content encodings.
