Setup broken #248
Comments
I checked out the project today and tried setup. All I get is a blank screen. |
A blank screen indicates that you haven't build the project. Read the developer installation docs in the source tree. Also please don't re-use foreign bugs - if in doubt, open a new one. |
Should I build the project before running setup.php? Is there any documentation for this? |
If you're running from the git sources, yes. Also please don't run setup.php - use index.php instead. Remember that the setup in git is currently broken and I haven't gotten the time to fix the problem. |
Oops I meant to say setup/index.php but thanks for clarifying for others. Setup never worked for me period the only thing that's gotten me running is to follow the Quick install doc. But apparently that forgot to mention the submodule update part. Then there are the Ubuntu install docs you pointed me to today...so I'm just confused. Perhaps there are other features that are more important. |
I agree that the project is in a pretty unhealthy state currently - I wanted to put out 0.1.8 two months ago, however, the ExtJS upgrade broke too many things. I wish that I could spend more time on PartKeepr, but there are non-FOSS obligations I've got to follow. |
I have to admit that QUICK-INSTALL is very out of date - sorry! That file actually is from a time where the web setup didn't exist. I just updated the file to reflect that. |
Finally fixed now. |
It seems that the latest ExtJS upgrade has broken the setup - need to check why and fix it.
