SSO 3.4
This release is focused on polishing the details to make the instruments sound better and more realistic.
- The chorus has cleaner attacks, more natural sounding dynamics, and more even panning.
- Marcato articulations now use 2x round robins for the attacks.
- The flutes, oboes, clarinets, and bassoons use a filter to create more natural sounding dynamics.
- Fixed a few samples that had clicks in them.
SSO 3.3
This release adds several new features.
- Legato articulations for all string, wind, and brass instruments.
- The brass performance instruments sound more natural when changing dynamics.
- The horns have a new set of sustain samples with a larger range and two layers.
SSO 3.2
SSO 3.1
This release contains the following improvements.
- Added harpsichord (based on the Flemish Harpsichord from Versilian Community Sample Library).
- Added large chorus.
- Improved the sound of string resonance on the piano.
SSO 3.0
This release contains lots of changes to improve the quality and flexibility of the library.
- Most instruments now come in two versions that are controlled differently. The "notation" versions use velocity to control the dynamics of all articulations. The "performance" versions use the modulation controller to control the dynamics of long articulations.
- An alternate solo flute has been added (created by Mattias Westlund).
- The grand piano has been replaced with a much better one (a modified version of the Splendid Grand Piano from https://github.com/sfzinstruments/SplendidGrandPiano).
- The chorus sounds much better than before thanks to volume and pitch corrections on all notes.
- Various other minor changes to improve the sound of individual notes.
SSO 2.0
This release combines many enhancements created by various people since the original SSO was first released. New features include:
- Looped versions of all sustain articulations (implemented by Signal Experiments).
- Looped-decaying versions of all solo instruments (implemented by Signal Experiments).
- Marcato articulations for most ensemble sections (implemented by Peter Eastman).
- Staccato violas (implemented by Mattias Westlund).
- Tremolo violins (implemented by Mattias Westlund).
- Keyswitched instruments (implemented by Peter Eastman).
- Lots of minor changes to improve the overall quality of the library: note volumes are more uniform within each instrument, articulation ranges are more consistent, and a few notes that contained stray noises have been fixed (implemented by Peter Eastman).
