Traceroute's run is getting/passing bogus IP version data

One of my perfSONAR servers is giving this error:

This server was also the only one that had a vanilla Centos install +
perfSONAR packages later on. After trying many things, I decided to
rebuild the server with the latest perfSONAR distro:
pS-Toolkit-4.2.4-CentOS7-NetInstall-x86_64-2020Mar27.

Unable to reproduce and can't find a path in the code for this to happen. Wrote user and got no response. Closing.
