Actually Peter, you keep saying you can't trust the Merkle Roots that Factom creates, yet the Merkle Roots for each tree are written into the Bitcoin blockchain.
You can't pretend that the history doesn't exist, or that the history is forked when there is a sequence of hashes in the blockchain that prove 1) the history did in fact exist, and 2) history has not been forked.
