Welcome to PFPSim the open-source simulation framework for Forwarding Planes [Data plane/User plane]

What is PFPSim?

PFPSim is a flexible hardware/software simulation framework for data planes based on SystemC which allows:

  • Describe the architecture of a forwarding plane using the Forwarding Architecture Description (FAD) Language.
  • Generate a simulation model described in FAD.
  • Simulate a dataplane model by providing behavioural models for the architecture components.
  • Execute data plane applications in the generated model.

PFPSim allows quick architectural exploration and profiling data plane applications for a given software stack.
