When using <a-f> (Open multiple links in a new tab), each time a link is selected the filter is reset.

For example, open all pdf files in the page by typing:
<a-f> pdf 1<enter> 2<enter> 3<enter> 4<enter>
instead of:
<a-f> pdf1<enter> pdf2<enter> pdf3<enter> pdf4<enter>

That's a very specific use case you're choosing. For many other use cases this proposal would require considerably more typing.

I've been trying to figure out what <a-f> is in the <a-f> (Open multiple links in a new tab) option.

What exactly is that / how do I activate it? I've read thru everything and am stumped. I'm sure it's just a brain fart, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.

Hold down the Alt key and hit f, yes?

Or map it to something you prefer on the options page:

map X LinkHints.activateModeWithQueue
