AD integration, apply permissions / role to AD groups

I want to be able to add AD groups and assign roles to each. I was able to add AD groups by changing the base DN for AD integration to our groups OU. This worked, I can search for groups. I can then add groups in to PHPIPAM. But I cannot assign a "Section permissions" under groups in phpipam, why?

I want to be able to assign the "phpIPAM Admin" role to my AD groups.

Is this supported or am I missing something?

I read though this post, but its not clear if this is implemented or supported as its still open. Not sure if related
