This is for experimental purpose, no image viewer.
To compress a bmp (only 24 bit bmp is supported for now due to the bmp lib) to pjpeg,
./pjpeg <low/medium/high> inputfile.bmp compressed.pjpeg
To decompress back to a bmp,
./pjpeg -d compressed.pjpeg decompressed.bmp
The Lena bmp image (786 KB) is compressed in 3 settings: high, medium and low.
The compression ratios are:
- low: 56.14 (14 KB)
- medium: 35.72 (22 KB)
- high: 21.8 (36 KB)
To visually evaluate all images in the test_images folder, run bash test.sh.
