I just got my Rainbow Hat today. This seems like a pretty massive oversight... :(

I think the only solution here is an external temp sensor. The LEDs generate a significant amount of heat even if the board is not on a Pi. The Pimoroni "Things" Coupe Case does not have a cutout above the CPU , but even with that and LEDs off, I am reading well above room-temp.

@ED6E0F17 so you're saying something like the Black Hat Hack3r still wouldn't solve it? It's the LEDs rather than the Pi itself?

I have just done a quick test with the 4 digit display, and it added 5c to the temperature. The high powered RGB LEDs would be similar. The Pi SOC would add a lot more than that.
