In short, IoTSim-Blockchain is a toolkit for simulation and modelling of Blockchain-backed IoT networks.
The most significant contribution to IoTSim-Blockchain is what it builds upon: IoTSim-Osmosis - Java based simulation framework for IoT networks deployed under osmotic paradigm. IoTSim-Osmosis per se is one of many iterations of CloudSim - "...a framework for modelling and simulation of cloud computing infrastructures and services. Originally built primarily at the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory, the University of Melbourne, Australia, CloudSim has become one of the most popular open source cloud simulators in the research and academia."
The architecture of Blockchain base model implemented in the simulator is rooted in that of BlockSim - "An Extensible Simulation Tool for Blockchain Systems"
