While I'm guessing the package itself is likely OK, DSpace SWORDv2 fails if the package type isn't reported correctly. But, it is possible to change the configuration to accept new packaging types in the DSpace "swordv2-server.cfg" file: [...]
Changed per the above email. I can't get it depositing into the demo dspace install due to a Tomcat error that I don't think is on our side, but at least this is a step closer.

Another aspect of this is that the SWORD deposit (via import/export) appears to report success when there's actually an error message returned.
