ver 9.8.0
Note Air 2
settings: Behavior/UI > Save tabs [ON] (everything else is OFF)

Steps:
-, open new tab (+ icon)
-, type "Bruce Lee film"
-, press enter
-, press and hold on any result
-, select "new tab (background)"
-, modify search (in top of the page) example add "LAST"
-, press enter <<< nothing happens >>>

happens on google, and sometimes on twitter (https://mobile.twitter.com/explore)

UPDATE: different example of same issue:

Steps:
-, open new tab (+ icon)
-, type "Bruce Lee film"
-, press enter
-, press and hold on any result
-, select "new tab (background)"
-, scroll to very end of the page <<<additional results are not lazy loaded by google ("Related searches" is last block)>>>

But if we do same without "select "new tab (background)"" everything works fine

Steps:
-, open new tab (+ icon)
-, type "Bruce Lee film"
-, press enter
-, scroll to very end of the page <<<many additional results are loaded after "Related searches" block)>>>

For symptom 1, I can't reproduce it on my AirC device: I can always add new words in search bar, so that new results will be fetched. Google website may do a lot of A/B testings, my results behavior may not be the same as yours.

For symptom 2, I can't see results after Relates Searches even without long pressing link to open it in the background. And I always see a See more button in the button, so it would be just click on See more for more results if you want.

@plateaukao, thanks for looking into the issue.

Do you have "loading non-active tabs" off?
and do you do the step with "new tab (background)"?

It's not only google, i have similar issue with twitter...

I have the option turned on.

I will try again without background loaing tabs.

@gety9
Please try the nightly build, it should have fixed the problem you described. If there's any side effect, please let me know. I did brief testing with the "loading non-active tabs" on/off, and "continue media play" on/off. So far, seems all works well.
