Looks as though this regression occurs when bumping 1.35.2 to 1.36.0

Oh boy. This only happens in our CDN bundles (see https://rreusser.github.io/plotly-mock-viewer/#gl2d_10 for another example). Not in our devs bundles. Similar to #2456 after the 1.35.0 release (fixed in #2458). @jackparmer noticed something similar last night.

I think I had enough. I'm thinking of 🔪 all the browser-pack-flat things (essentially reverting #2447). Thoughts @alexcjohnson ?
