Hi @everyone, if you are reading the book please try to edit via PRs but even if you cannot do that, help us index! All you need to do is anytime you see a word that you think is important/salient, dump it into this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gmyjFbErt_CW8-qLKChSpciLlCDGUhLriYFov0HO3qA/edit#gid=0. Please keep it in alphabetical order to avoid duplicates by right clicking on the left side numbers to add extra rows.

nishio: I slightly updated the layout and apply filter. Anyone add a bunch of keywords from other sections, then they can sort them.

nishio: Sometimes same keywords occurs in several sections (of course), for example "Haptic Feedback" occurs in 05-01 and 05-02. I recorded both.

Current status: anyone dump keywords into this spreadsheet!

@GlenWeyl I believe it would be beneficial to encourage participation from many people at this stage. However It would be helpful to clarify by when and in what format the index should be completed. If my understanding is correct, it should be after the manuscript is fixed. So, I thought it might be better to use an issue rather than a chat for this.

It would be a good idea to announce on March 17th, "help us index! deadline is March 24th!"

I'm planning to write to check which chapters the selected keywords appear in, based on the input from the spreadsheet.
Would you have any preferred format or data structure requests for the script?

Should acronyms be written as acronyms, the whole name, both?

Announcement to encourage participation:

Hello everyone, especially those who find contributing via GitHub difficult. I'd like to inform you about an easy way to contribute using Google Spreadsheet.
We are collecting keywords to create an index. Would you like to contribute to this? All you need to do is anytime you see a word that you think is important/salient, dump it into this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gmyjFbErt_CW8-qLKChSpciLlCDGUhLriYFov0HO3qA/edit#gid=0
I have implemented a script to confirm the occurrence of keywords based on spreadsheet data and output them to various files. Your contributions to index will be outputted to this file. https://github.com/pluralitybook/plurality/blob/main/scripts/index/contributors.tsv

I plan to summarize how the indexing work for the first edition in English was conducted and write it in the README, to ensure that as much as possible can be reused for the creation of the second edition. Then, I'll close this issue. Since it's not an urgent task, I'll take it easy.
