Details about the problem

The keyboard color cannot be set using the Static effect; it defaults to green no matter what color is selected. The color changes as expected in the Breath effect.

Workaround: Create a new effect with only a single frame in the sequence of the desired color

Operating System / Desktop Environment / Version(s)

"Arch Linux" (64 bit)
Kernel Name: Linux
Kernel Version: 6.8.9-arch1-2
KDE/Wayland

Affected Devices

2023 Razer Blade 16

Unfortunately, there's nothing that Polychromatic can do about this. We're just the messenger.

There is a known Razer Blade laptop with a similar problem:

It's more of a bug for OpenRazer, since the project utilises hardware functionality, leaving it up to the firmware to deliver. Some Razer Blade's had this issue before, or at least under specific firmware versions.

The workaround works since that is driven entirely in software (which is also how Razer Synapse on Windows works too). Difference is, it might not persist across power cycles.

You should create an issue on OpenRazer's repository, and note which firmware version you're running (from "Device Info"). If you can access Windows on that laptop (e.g. WinToUSB), you could see if there's a firmware upgrade that might fix this. This worked for openrazer/openrazer#1992.

Thank you for the response! I'll follow your advice and collect some info so I can open an issue with OpenRazer if there isn't a firmware update available for the laptop (I don't think there is).
