I'm pretty sure we do need to do this. rename the existing term to include "multi-septate" and elongated not just septated |
see also pombase/curation#1219 note to self PMID:27898700 |

So existing term "FYPO:0002423 inviable after spore germination, without cell division, septated cells with abnormal cell shape" Jacky, the existing annotations to this term from the deletion project are these: These phenotypes (based on the one above) appear to be also both "multiseptated and elongated" (they don't look like traditional elongated cells , because the defect is separation. The look a bit like one of those long balloons that has been made into "sausages". SPBP22H7.03 is just published as sbg1 So I'm not sure either.....I have stuggled with these cell separation mutants before.... I have a folder with questions and examples....... |
maybe its really this? |

anything to do for this one? |
I will take this. I would like to check what this phenotype is annotated top. |
I was about to request a new child of
FYPO:0002423 inviable after spore germination, without cell division, septated cells with abnormal cell shape
(stub)
inviable after spore germination, without cell division, multi-septated cells swollen elongated cells
but I was pretty sure this phenotype existed already
its this:
Sorbitol partially rescued sbg1Δ cells and sbg1Δ cells germinated on media with sorbitol survived for up to 3 days. However, cytokinesis still failed and cell
morphology was defective in these cells, which were elongated, multi-septated, and swollen (Fig 1B and S2 Movie).
However, since I was looking at these earlier, I remembered we had described this slightly differently in cell cycle/morphology paper.
It's
inviable after spore germination, without cell division, with swollen, branched, elongated germ tube
With the branched,
FYPO:0002515
FYPO:0003005
we can assume they are also septated (the branching in this context is a result of incorrect cytokinesis but the cells are septated (often multispetate).
(Jacky -this is rubber glove phenotype!)
