How to create offline workspace?

• I have searched the tracker for existing similar issues and I know that duplicates will be closed

Describe the Issue

I unfortunately found out that my APIs are stored in the cloud without being asked. I was on the train and had no internet and could not open the api in Postman - because as I said offline.

I am not allowed to save customer api anywhere in any case. I even make myself liable to prosecution by doing so. So how can I make sure that the collections are only stored on my computer?

Steps To Reproduce

1. Create collection - you will get never an information the collection will be saved on Postman server.
2. disable your internet connection
3. open Postman

Hi @dit-j,

If you are signed into Postman then all of your data is saved to the cloud to help you easily access your data across devices. More details are here.

You should be able to use Postman offline by switching to "Scratchpad", all data present here are saved locally to your system.

Unfortunately, Scratchpad is now deprecated and will be removed in September.

What is the alternative for people that aren't always in a position to be online?

@postman-staff Scratchpad is deprecated. Is there another way ? if not , how can we handle sensitive data like api-keys, passwords, personal information in requests.

@postman-staff Same here. I can't put company internal APIs "somwhere" in the cloud. If scratchpad will disappear, I will have no choice but to look for an alternative, despite loving Postman. :-(

No one can do that and we are also started looking for alternative. I have really no idea what were they thinking. I hope they will regret their decision when they notice the drop of use and enable offline workspaces for everyone.
