Probationary BN await a positive evaluation to confirm their presence in the team as a full member. All new BN start off on probation by default for a period of one month. Existing BN may be placed on probation to help address issues identified during their latest evaluation.
Meanwhile, the wiki page tells a different story (again, emphasis mine):
A Beatmap Nominator cannot be demoted to probation. If concerns are raised regarding their performance, they would either be issued a warning or be removed from the group.
I'm assuming the wiki's description is more up to date (I was personally told that this would be the way things work now as a probationary BN), so the group's description should be updated to reflect that.
