Profile default game mode keeps getting reset

I've noticed a new function recently (on osu website) where you can set a mode as your profile default game mode. Being a taiko player, I set taiko as my profile default game mode, but for some reason, after some days, when I go back to my profile, it always changes back to regular, and I have to set it back to taiko manually. Is it possible to prevent this from happening?

This will happen if you changed the view you were looking at on the old site, or played a beatmap in another game mode (which will automatically change your profile for you). Going forward both of these will eventually be removed/deprecated, so I'm going to close this issue.
