suggestion: maybe a bell-curve style graph of pp count on x-axis vs number of players with that score on the y-axis, add a line for where the player is on that line and maybe a percentile calculation, also, should this go on the user profile page for a respective player or elsewhere
I want to add a reason to why this should be done.
This has been mentioned before by Ephemeral, and I am pretty sure the osu! team has talked about it already before, but ranking medals could be significantly more accurate and consistent by using percentile ranking instead of PP ranking. It is frustrating to players that if they had the skill they had now a few years ago that they could have gotten one of these medals, but instead, they have to work harder for the same medal even though their skill used to be sufficient for a medal such as "Approaching the summit".
These medals should be fair to everybody. As the years pass by, if these medals still use PP ranking, they will eventually become way too difficult to be practical. This "pro tier" of Approaching the summit would become literal "god tier", so if percentile ranking gets implemented, please fix these ranking medals as well.
Chances are #9825 will need to be fixed in order to implement this percentile ranking. And the issue is not just there. API v2 seems to show practically an identical value, so percentile ranking seems impossible right now. How active users are gotten/calculated MUST be fixed.
Apart from the numerical ranking for each player,
I think it would be nice to know what percentile a player is at for a particular game mode.
