Crash when used with Pixelmon, looks like HungerOverhaul isn't properly overhauling berries.
Pixelmon dev also asks if this mod needs to be put in the incompatibility list or if a workaround exist

I am having this same issue with Survival worlds, for items in inventory, the berries crash it out. In JEI it shows tooltip error, but does not crash.

This still seems to be a problem and occurs even when tooltip interaction is disabled.

I'm having the same issue. It's not with all berries. I tested it, and it crashes with Cornn, Touga, Magost, Rabuta, Nomel, Spelon, Pamtre, Watmel, Durin, Belue, Yago, Eggant, Drash, Pumkin, Ginema, Payapa, Kee, and Maranga berries

In the delays category of HungerOverhaul.cfg, there is a section:

    # Multipier on crop growth time (except sugarcane) in the wrong biome (1 to disable feature, 0 to make crops only grow in correct biome) [vanilla: 1.0] [range: 0.0 ~ 3.4028235E38, default: 2.0]
    S:wrongBiomeRegrowthMultiplier=2.0

Setting the value to 1.0 (disabling the feature) seems to solve the crashing issue.
If running a server, make sure to do it both client-side and server-side.
