This project should have some CI checking.

There’s two steps to this

Setup a standard CI flow that does any check - this mostly needs github familiarity
Start populating it with more useful checks

Some checks we might want include

rustfmt was applied
all backends run all #tests ok
documentation examples are ok

Note that the beginnings of a regression test are in scripts/regression-test.
