I think it would be better to place the bar with the + mark on the up side. #13

In a fork I saw, that bar was actually used for pinned tabs which I thought was pretty clever. I was planning on doing that and adding a text bar to search through tabs. In the context of that idea, it would make a lot more sense to have this bar be on the top as you suggest, however, this is not as high priority as some other issues (and it depends on being able to have the active tab highlighted). Hopefully I can get to this in a timely manner though.

This is done and committed. It'll be with the 0.8.5 release
