This feature has been in wild for a long time now (almost 3 years) and has been battle tested in Cortex (only the vertical compaction part). Since we now have backfilling too, I think it is a good time to remove the experimental tag on it.
I have also hidden the WAL compression flag in this PR from the -h output.
