Note that the Symfony 2.1 WebProfilerBundle has some JS code doing part of the work for you, so it should be quite easy to implement it in the 1.1 branch.
For reference, here is the JS code used by DoctrineBundle: https://github.com/doctrine/DoctrineBundle/blob/master/Resources/views/Collector/db.html.twig#L101
