Col Staggered layout with PICO RP2040, Cirque trackpad and encoder on a pcb
Thank you for the wonderful sponsorship of my BATARANG Armored version. Whenever you have the need for a good quality pcb prototype, PCBWay is your answer. They have a make it right attitude. During the initial print, their customer service representative informed me they found scratches on my print and told me they are doing a reprint for me on the house. Once it was done, they shipped both the scratched prints and the good ones. Now I have 10 pcbs! Yeah!
Now let's talk about what this Batarang Armored version is all about. I decided this time to play it safe this time and design the pcb using a Pico RP2040 as the mcu instead of designing an integrated RP2040. The pcb has rgb strip pads with a single diode hack that can output 4.3v logic by using a sacrificial RGB. More info is here: Diode RGB hack . The RGBs are use for the eyes. Batarang Ortho has a large 35mm knob and a 40mm Cirque trackpad. The knob functions as a wheel up/down, wheel left/right and volume. The J connector doesn't seem to be working. It could be my soldering issue or the mapping is incorrect. But the regular pads are working for the Cirque. I will make corrections to the J connector mapping in the future. All the wires are hidden so everything is nice and clean.
I accept any tips or donations of a cup of coffee to help keep me motivate but you don't have to if you don't want to. Thanks. https://ko-fi.com/protieusz
