Pure alpha status Currently awaits for dbus launch command and launches steam TODO: * Properly kill steam and all sub processes. * Create UDP WOL listener for port 9 (super user daemon) which can lazy find and connect to dbus, this might be hacky...? Also the steam link polls udp port 27036 for steam status, I might also be able to watch that. * Create an http server for pushing commands over as well, to integrate with various android http button apps. * Create a command line interface for the steam_client.py to launch/stop/kill etc FUTURE: * Create a pygame menu interface that controls the steam client from within steam (launch it as a 'game') that way BACKGROUND: I just recently got a steam link, and a steam controller for the most part they work great. But steam on linux feels broken for any but the happy path. Launching steam games never seems to be on the happy path. I have a 1440p monitor dual system, but games don't always want to run properly on it. Also some games don't work well with dual monitors under linux. I wanted a way to hit a button from either my phone or the steam link, that triggered my desktop to reconfigure via xrandr to a 1080p single head, and then launch steam. I figured there was already a system for doing the basic steam management launch/stop/kill and there was not, so it made sense to create it. Using DBUS to do basic RPC I was able to hack this alpha 'test' in about an hour or so. I feel like such a tool is a necessary evil right now, and will help Linux gamers better manage their desktop PC's steam processes from the comfort of their couch.
